Dr. Caroline Shek

Caroline Shek, DDS

After graduating from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC in 2005, I was blessed to be employed by Dr. Benson Araki. I worked for Dr. Araki in Ewa Beach for over ten years, until his passing in 2011. During that time he became like a father to me. He mentored me and instilled precious values about life, family, and relationships. The Ewa Beach community was  special to him. Over the span of his life, he established three practices in the area, in addition to cooking and owning a restaurant. Dr. Araki loved to sing, celebrate life events with friends and family, and would often say, “relationships matter.” Through him, I was able to care for the patients in Ewa and developed the same love for this community and his commitment to develop strong relational ties. My hope is to maintain Dr. Araki’s vision for this office and the Ewa Beach community for as long as I can, and then pass it on to the next generation.

Although I have spent the majority of my career at this Ewa Beach office, I also worked in community-health dentistry and have over 15 years of dental experience. I am excited about the future of dentistry and the recent innovations in the industry (although no one has come close to the dentures Dr. Araki made by his own hands). I am committed to giving patients high standards of care, but conservatively and only as needed.

When I am not involved in dental care, my spouse and I are usually driving one of our two girls to some kind of sports event/training (soccer, softball, flag football, track, cross country, etc).  When I am not driving them, I attempt to do jiu jitsu or Krav Maga. My highlight of the day is when I get to sit on the couch with my two French Bulldogs.
